Catch Up Photos - Xi'an

Xi'an is the only city in China with the city walls still completely intact. The city goes well beyond the walls. Our hotel was near the South Gate.

Within the city walls are the Bell Tower and Drum Tower. We took tours of both in the evening.

The Bell Tower in the foreground with the Drum Tower in the back to the left.

View from the Bell Tower on a rainy night - North Street, South Street, East Street, and West Street meet at the Bell Tower.

Bell concerts are held at the tower several times a day.

Amy didn't get to bang on the drum all day but a couple times was enough.
Drums lining the tower (don't know the characters on the drums)

It's good to be short in China. There are lots of signs around warning to watch your head - many doorways and staircases are low.

These are great pictures and I especially love the comments. I think it's funny how the Chinese like to get their pictures taken with Westerners. That happened to another friend of mine when they went to China too. It's odd. Oh well. Your pictures of the Wall are awesome. I've always wanted to see that myself.

Thanks for sharing with all of us.
